Today’s Usage Tip: Eating Fruits and Vegetables correctly

We all think eating fruits and veggies means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It’s is actually very unhealthy that manner. It’s important to know how and when to eat these superfoods.

What is the correct way of eating fruits and veggies?

Having agreed on the health potentials of fruits and veggies and how they are described as ‘life giving life’ however, life administered wrongly can be more dangerous than the ‘dead ministering to the living’. It is pertinent to ascertain the quality (freshness) of the products before consumption.


It is a common practice that sellers of these products particularly in Africa don’t understand the nature of fruits and veggies and abuse the products in the quest to present the product attractively.

Also fruits and veggies displayed under hot sun are not the best buy, because the life giving composition of the products (Vitamins-antioxidants) are not heat-stable and are destroyed when subjected to hot temperatures.


The average temperature of the human stomach is a bit higher than the normal body temperature, when foods are consumed (especially hot foods) increases the temperature of the intestines. When fruits and veggies are introduced at this time into the intestines, they are simply destroyed and hence not beneficial, the reason not far-fetched. The vitamins cannot access the absorbing walls of the villi and therefore stayed longer under hot conditions.


It simply implies that fruits and veggies correctly sourced and cleaned thoroughly with potable water should be eaten on an empty stomach as the best practice. However, in the case of difficulty in adhering to the best practice, an hour before or three hours after every meal can be adopted. If you eat fruit and veggies in this manner, it will play a major role in keeping your system active, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other activities.


So please eat your fruits and veggies on an empty stomach or as advised. You’ve heard people complaining about eating watermelon with after feeling associated with burping, and a running bowels with banana consumption. Actually all this will not arise if you eat on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying compounds in other foods and produces gas and hence you will bloat.


But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.


You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and veggies drink a lot of juice throughout the 3-days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look.
